CASE MANAGEMENT/ELECTRONIC CASE FILES (CM/ECF) SYSTEM DOWNTIME FOR UPGRADE FRIDAY MAY 29, 2026, AT 6:00 PM CST THRU SUNDAY MAY 31, 2026, AT 11:59 PM CST

Thursday, May 28, 2026

PUBLIC NOTICE OF CASE MANAGEMENT/ELECTRONIC CASE FILES (CM/ECF) SYSTEM DOWNTIME

BEGINNING FRIDAY MAY 29, 2026, AT 6:00 PM CST UNTIL SUNDAY MAY 31, 2026, AT 11:59 PM

Please note that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee will be upgrading to the latest version of CM/ECF. The upgrade will require system downtime beginning at 6:00 p.m. CST on Friday, May 29, 2026. The system will be unavailable until 11:59 p.m. CST on Sunday, May 31, 2026. As a result, routine filing access for any pleading, including new cases, time-sensitive motions, or briefs will be unavailable.

This update is not expected to impact any current features or normal use of CM/ECF.  However, there are a few known potential issues of which filers and users should be aware:

  1. If a filer’s session exceeds 120 minutes (2 hours), some pages may appear blank or not load properly.  Please close and reopen the internet browser and re-enter ECF.

  1. PDF documents created by Word for Mac may be rejected by the system. If a filer is experiencing this issue, they should open the pdf document in Adobe Acrobat and select “Save As pdf” to create a different pdf file.

  1. If the “Select a Creditor” function fails to display all Claims filed on behalf of a creditor in the popup when the filer or user selects a creditor for whom claims currently exist in the case. The Filer or User should run the Claims Register report to gather existing claims information before filing the claim.

  1. Filers may see a generic message that is displayed for each successful judge and/or trustee assignment when the filer selects the Judge/Trustee assignment when filing a case. The generic message reads "Assignment and Notice of Bankruptcy Case Filing will complete after court has finished quality control." The message is intended to display only after an unsuccessful assignment or docketing occurs but may appear even after a successful assignment or docketing. If this message appears it can be dismissed, and the filer may verify that the assignment has been by pulling up the docket sheet.

  1. ePOC will not support Chapter 15 cases. Claims for Chapter 15 cases must be filed at the Clerk’s intake counter, by mail, or electronically through CM/ECF.

Once the update is complete, should filers or users have further issues, please contact the Court at (615) 736-5584
